From the good read- a random thought
“Everything Trump Touches Dies”- The Final Reckoning
In this series we take an article or a book and explain a thought arising from “The Good Read.” This month, as Donald Trump wages or threatens wars in Venezuela, Greenland, Iran and other places on the one hand; accepts the FIFA “Peace Prize” and takes an unearned Nobel Prize with the same hand; whilst crucifying fact in all its forms; we are left wondering- how on earth will this fail to diminish trust in the US financial system: its equity markets, its bond market and its currency?
The trigger for this thought comes from the New York Times Bestseller “Everything Trump Touches Dies.” Rick Wilson’s scathing critique came in advance of 2026 suggesting that he has room for a sequel. For investors, a period of pivotal re-thinking. US assets are not what they used to be, has Trump put a death-wish on US assets?
